Reviewer's Guide
High-Level Explanation
We have three constituents: advertisers,
consumers and affiliates
Advertisers
Advertisers can create an account, create multiple businesses under
their account and create multiple coupons for each business. We require
each business to provide an ID validation with a 1˘ charge to a valid
credit card (yes we lose money on this). We do this to avoid having
evil-doers create fraudulent coupons. Each coupon can be available all
of the time or their use can be restricted (e.g. one use per customer,
etc.). Advertisers can easily create coupons online, or upload an image
of an existing coupon.
Advertisers manage their coupons from a control panel. They can view,
pause, activate, edit or delete coupons with a single click. They can
also get reports on their coupons, showing things like how many people
have viewed and printed each coupon.
Advertisers can also add additional information about their business,
such as their hours of operation, acceptable forms of payment,
additional locations, specialties or selling points, web address and
menus. All of this is optional information, but it is helpful to
consumers.
Consumers
Consumers enter their zip code to see coupons in their area (along with
national and webstore coupons). Then they can navigate by category or
search for coupons. They can flag coupons as their favorites, in their
“Favorites” folder. If the user is registered (free and simple) they get
access to the restricted coupons that can only be used a limited number
of times.
On the list of coupons, users can easily see all of the relevant
information about each company and coupon (e.g. contact info, a brief
description of the coupon and user ratings). This list is sortable by
clicking on the column headers. Clicking on the coupon offer displays
the coupon, which can be printed and redeemed. The user can also click
on links that provide more information (e.g. payment forms accepted,
hours of operation, specialties, menu, etc.), a map to the business, or
a link to the company’s website. Users can also rate and review each
company. In the rating form, they can even add tags that can be used by
themselves and others. For example, you might tag an auto repair as
“Audi” and “honest” to help the community better find appropriate
businesses.
Affiliates
ZiXXo syndicates both the inbound (coupon creation) and the outbound
(coupon distribution). Affiliates can place our launchpad, banners, etc.
on their website to direct consumers and advertisers to our service.
While the service is free during our beta phase, eventually we will get
around to charging advertisers a small fee per coupon printed. At that
time we will share the revenue from each coupon with the affiliate that
distributed the coupon and the affiliate who referred the advertiser to
ZiXXo. So affiliates can do very well by locking up advertisers now,
during the free phase, enabling them to get paid on every coupon from
those advertisers in the future.
Affiliates can also use our Application Programming Interface (API) to
integrate our information into their applications. For example yellow
pages applications can add coupons to their individual listings, local
search can find coupons, the opportunities enabled by our API are only
limited by developers’ imaginations.
Our Policies
We don’t share individual user information with anyone, including the
vendors. We don’t spam, nor do we enable others to spam. In fact, we
won’t even eat Spam.
